New to buying carpets or flooring? It’s a bigger decision than most home purchases! You’re picking something you’ll live with for years, in a room you use every day. If you’re not sure where to start, here’s exactly what to expect, from your first phone call to admiring your finished floor.
1. Book a Measurement
Everything starts with a free, no-obligation home measurement. Our Leeds team will visit, measure your rooms, and give you a proper quote—no guesswork, no obligation to buy. Some customers prefer to provide their own measurements, for example from a floorplan, but bear in mind these aren’t always accurate. It’s best to let us take an accurate measurement, especially since it’s free anyway.
2. Browse Our Range Online
While you wait for your measurement, start exploring our full range of carpets, vinyl, laminate and wood flooring on our website. Filter by room type, colour, or budget to narrow things down before you commit to anything. Why not start with our ranges on sale? If you’ve already decided on your flooring, just let us know—we can give you an on-the-spot quote as soon as we have your room sizes.
3. Still Unsure? Visit Our Showroom
Photos only tell you so much. Carpet colour, texture and pile all look different in person, and under your own lighting. If you want to see and feel more options beyond the hundreds of ranges on our website, come and browse our legendary Leeds showroom in Armley LS12 3AQ. Our team is on hand to help you decide, with no pressure. Free parking is available for 90 minutes at the Home Bargains car park, right next to our back entrance.
4. Make Your Payment
Once you’ve chosen your flooring, confirm your order with payment. At this point your flooring is reserved and we start preparing for your fitting. We accept cash, bank transfer, card payments by phone, Mastercard and Visa, as well as interest-free payment plans through Payment Assist and Klarna (for an additional fee).
5. Lock in Your Fitting Date
Book a fitting date that works for you. Usually the lead time is 7 days for products that are in stock, and 14 days for products that need ordering. We’ll carry out the fitting on your chosen day, though unfortunately we can’t guarantee a precise time—our work in the field is highly dynamic, and some jobs take significantly longer than others. Don’t worry though: we’ll call you 30 minutes before we arrive, so you don’t need to wait in all day.
6. Prepare Your Room
Clear the room ahead of fitting day. You’ll need to remove your old flooring (but leave the gripper rods in place if you have them) and clear all furniture from the room. Hoovering the floor beforehand to clear small debris also helps.
7. Fitting Day
Our fitters arrive and get your new flooring installed, properly and to schedule. Old flooring removed, new flooring fitted.
